The new leadership team meet for the first time this week, so please pray for them as they work out how to serve together to do what God wants in our church. The priorities they will be looking at are:

Pastoral support and Housegroups – how can we develop these
Community Outreach – but making sure which part of the community we are trying to reach
Worship – particularly on Sundays
Prayer – putting prayer at the heart of our Fellowship in everything
Student Ministry – can we rebuild this in the coming years?

John White writes in response to the donations to the blue recycle bin housed in the church over 3 Sundays this month.

I thought you might like to know straight
away the value of the stock donated by Canley Community Church over the last three weeks (and kindly delivered to our shop in Cannon Park by you). Our manger at the shop has gone through all the donations and valued it at shop floor prices as £350!

That is amazing and was very encouraging to our shop staff and volunteers… Please pass on thanks to all at the church for their kindness in supporting Global Care in this way.

Canley Church Lunch 22 April

Our next church lunch will be on 22 April 2012. The meal is always very popular, so to make sure we have enough food for everyone, it’s essential that you book with Claire Martin by 18 April on 024 76416958.

We will have a service from 11am, when Doug Preston will talk to us about how “Jesus is amazing!”, then lunch will follow from about 12:30pm. We look forward to seeing you then!

Recycle With A Difference

Recycle with a difference is Global Care’s new initiative that enables you to help in a way that will not affect you financially. From Sunday 1st April until Sunday 15th April, we will have a Global Care stock bin present at Canley Community Church.

Please place your unwanted items into the bin. After this three week period, Global Care will collect the bin and recycle the contents, turning any good quality pieces into stock at one of their charity shops. These items, when sold, will contribute to Global Care’s work in helping vulnerable children break free from poverty.
